Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Deshojo') Bonsai Tree | Informal Upright | In 25cm Pot
Representative image: You will receive a similar tree. Each bonsai is unique.
Introduction
Japanese Maple offers fine branching and changing foliage colour, bringing a strong sense of the seasons to a bonsai display. Its informal-upright styling adds movement to the trunk line. It is supplied in an approximately 25cm pot.
About this bonsai
Deshojo is grown for colourful spring foliage, which changes as the leaves mature. Autumn colour and winter branch structure add further interest. Leaf colour and timing vary naturally with growing conditions.

Position & light
Keep outdoors in a bright, sheltered position. Morning sun and some afternoon shade help protect delicate foliage during hot weather. Avoid strong drying winds.
Watering
Water thoroughly when the upper soil layer starts to dry. Check frequently in warm or windy weather and do not allow the root ball to dry out. Ensure excess water can drain away.
Feeding & pruning
Feed during active growth. Trim gently to maintain the outline and avoid heavy work on a stressed tree. Assess repotting in spring as buds begin to move, with timing guided by the tree and local conditions.
Winter care
Leaf fall and bare branches are normal in winter. Protect the pot during prolonged hard freezes and shelter fresh spring growth from late frost. Keep the tree outdoors or in suitable unheated protection.
What you'll receive

Please note:
Trees
- Image shown is of the actual tree you will receive unless stated otherwise in the actual product's description
- The height given is from the base of the pot to the top of the tree.
- The tree received may be slightly different from the picture. Whilst we try to keep the photos of our trees as up to date as possible, these are live plants and, as such, will continue to grow and change slightly in between the times we take the photos.
Pots
- Some of our Bonsai pots are bought in bulk and unfortunately it's impossible to photograph each single item so the photograph used is taken from one random item of each collection we sell. In 99% of cases this means that any differences won't even be noticeable, however, if you have seen a particular image of a pot that has a certain streak of paint in a certain place, bear in mind that the pot you receive may not be 100% identical to this.
