Introduction
'Blaauw' brings blue-grey evergreen foliage and naturally upright growth to a bonsai collection. Its compact sprays offer plenty of character for patient shaping and development.
About this bonsai
Supplied in its original 19cm plastic nursery pot, ready for you to grow on, shape and repot as part of your own bonsai project. This is our Bonsai Material option.
Tree details
- Botanical name: Juniperus chinensis 'Blaauw'
- Common name: Chinese Juniper
- Supplied in: 19cm Plastic Pot
- Growing position: Outdoor
Position & light
Keep outdoors in a sunny, airy position. Chinese Juniper needs outdoor light and seasonal conditions throughout the year.
Watering
Check moisture daily in warm or windy weather. Water thoroughly when the surface starts to dry and allow the pot to drain freely; avoid standing water.
Feeding & pruning
Feed during the growing season as directed on your bonsai fertiliser. Trim selectively, retaining healthy green foliage; avoid cutting back into bare old wood.
Winter care
This is a hardy outdoor species, but container roots benefit from shelter during prolonged freezes. Protect the pot from severe cold and drying winds.
What you'll receive
One living tree in the pot described. Photographs are representative; natural variations in size, branching and foliage make every plant individual. A drip tray is not included unless specified.
Latin Name: Juniperus chinensis 'Blaauw'
Please note:
Trees
- Image shown is of the actual tree you will receive unless stated otherwise in the actual product's description
- The height given is from the base of the pot to the top of the tree.
- The tree received may be slightly different from the picture. Whilst we try to keep the photos of our trees as up to date as possible, these are live plants and, as such, will continue to grow and change slightly in between the times we take the photos.
Pots
- Some of our Bonsai pots are bought in bulk and unfortunately it's impossible to photograph each single item so the photograph used is taken from one random item of each collection we sell. In 99% of cases this means that any differences won't even be noticeable, however, if you have seen a particular image of a pot that has a certain streak of paint in a certain place, bear in mind that the pot you receive may not be 100% identical to this.
