Introduction
Fukien Tea offers small glossy leaves, a characterful trunk and the possibility of tiny white flowers. The broom-style canopy creates a balanced miniature-tree silhouette. It is supplied in an approximately 16cm pot.
About this bonsai
This tropical bonsai rewards attentive care and a stable growing environment. Flowering depends on light and the health of the tree, so blooms are not guaranteed on delivery. It is commonly sold under the older name Carmona retusa.

Position & light
Keep in a very bright indoor position close to a suitable window, away from cold draughts and direct radiator heat. Avoid repeated moves between contrasting environments.
Watering
Check the soil frequently. Water thoroughly when the surface starts to dry and let the pot drain fully. Avoid both complete root-ball drying and persistently wet soil.
Feeding & pruning
Use suitable bonsai fertiliser at the recommended dilution while growing. Trim shoots gently to maintain the canopy. Roots are sensitive to disturbance, so plan repotting carefully in warm growing conditions.
Winter care
Keep warm and frost-free, with the best available daylight. Adjust watering to actual moisture levels as growth slows, and avoid leaving the tree against very cold window glass.
