Boxwood (Buxus harlandii) Bonsai Tree | Clump | In 20cm Pot
Representative image: You will receive a similar tree. Each bonsai is unique.
Introduction
Chinese Boxwood combines small evergreen leaves with a dense canopy that can be refined through careful pruning. Several stems come together in a compact clump-style composition. It is supplied in an approximately 20cm pot.
About this bonsai
Buxus harlandii needs different winter treatment from hardy European box. Its compact foliage makes a convincing small tree, while its care suits someone willing to monitor moisture and seasonal protection closely.

Position & light
Provide bright light and good airflow. A sheltered outdoor position is useful in warm weather, with some protection from intense afternoon sun. Avoid dark indoor corners.
Watering
Check often in summer and water thoroughly as the top of the soil starts to dry. Prevent the root ball from drying hard, while allowing excess water to drain away.
Feeding & pruning
Feed during active growth and trim extending shoots to preserve the outline. Work gradually and avoid combining major pruning with substantial root work when the tree is weak or newly received.
Winter care
Bring into a bright, cool, frost-free space for winter; around 10°C is a useful guide. Do not rely on the winter hardiness of common outdoor boxwood for this species.
What you'll receive

Please note:
Trees
- Image shown is of the actual tree you will receive unless stated otherwise in the actual product's description
- The height given is from the base of the pot to the top of the tree.
- The tree received may be slightly different from the picture. Whilst we try to keep the photos of our trees as up to date as possible, these are live plants and, as such, will continue to grow and change slightly in between the times we take the photos.
Pots
- Some of our Bonsai pots are bought in bulk and unfortunately it's impossible to photograph each single item so the photograph used is taken from one random item of each collection we sell. In 99% of cases this means that any differences won't even be noticeable, however, if you have seen a particular image of a pot that has a certain streak of paint in a certain place, bear in mind that the pot you receive may not be 100% identical to this.
